No Commitment

With his newly cut
short hair
he looked awful
And from his dark circles
I assumed that 
he remained awake past night
Only I could see his pain
even though he smiled;

His pain like waves
touched my shore
That is why
for the first time
I wrote him
letting him know
that I haven't made
any commitment
to anyone.
