Rising and Falling

Rising and Falling
In this love
constant, always...

In the time of falling
She wants to move away
move further from the center.

But then she recalls
his smile;

his narrow, half closed eyes
and his extreme happiness!

Those moments become stronger
....................in the time of falling;
and she RISES again
with peace and joy;
And returns to the center

To him.

Afternoons

These faded afternoons
The sunlight lost its vigor
And touched the window

Someone sings a song!
A tune wanders in the wind
The constant sound of a hammer
comes piercing through the air.

They are building a new house
An artificial apartment
A swimming pool -- Inside
A green lawn amidst of a concrete jungle

The migrant workers
From a distant village
Sing a melancholic song!

The sunlight lost its vigor
And now touched the glass-door

Their hearts sink
In an endless river.

Trap

Those blue eyes
which she once appreciated
taught her love and hate

It was sharp and steep
like a trap
and she fell on the ground
wounded and hurt

She slept day and night
couldn't count the countless time
missed classes and sent a letter of regret
with full of guilt...

She lost all her strength
couldn't live at her cozy place
walked side by side with her friend
In a November night
and sobbed while sipping a cup of coffee

Those blue eyes
which were once warm and alive
slowly turned out to be COLD and DEAD.

She

She never knew what poetry is or could be
She just cooked food
             cleaned house
thought how to make some money
so that she can run her family.

Now she got me;
who was aberrant and weird
half-mad most of the time
passionate and uncontrolled
intense and insane

She got someone
whom she never understood
As she never understood this insane "me"
She never understood poetry and love.

Flower Girl

I know I won't be that BIG
                        or that GREAT;

I will just pick a bunch of tulips
and sell those
in this tall city that never sleeps.

A place for me

It has become a diary
the every page of the poetry book
speaks up every single day of her life.

Oh my Lord!
I need peace.

I am in utter pain
Please hold my hand
and let me seek a place
in your kind Heart.

Inside you!

Just discovered
you have a poet Inside you
I thought you are just a nerd!
Only like to play with words
in novels and in your eccentric prose
which I don't understand always.

A mind which can see the beauty of a city full of snow
and feel that everything just like constellated stars
against a backdrop of deep blue sky...

No doubt, You certainly have a poet inside you.

Our Love

Our love seems endless
Our love seems like a stream
always full of water to its brim
Whenever I talk about it
My eyes get moistened.

Our love is just not love
It's full of reverence
We do for each other.

Our love seems endless
Our love seems like a stream,
always full of water to its brim.

PROSE AND POETRY

I speak of freedom
I speak of pain
I talk on behalf of them
who cannot express their endless happiness and grief

In POETRY.

You do the same
You speak of freedom
You speak of sufferings
You give voice to speechless

In PROSE.

Nothing matters more

She thought
She could be like others
standing in front of the camera
with a wide smile on her face!

She thought she could be like her
satisfied with some happiness
around him and the little girl - just 6 months old

But it was not so easy
The transition of knowing oneself from one dimension to the other
from one corner of a small room to a spacious one
and then slowly dancing with the rhythm
putting her steps with the music

Now, she just smiles
thinking of those fragmented memories
pieces of emotions...
So much valuable once
but a void today!

 Today nothing matters more
 than her own happiness :)

After a siesta

Scribbling here
After a siesta

I remember our last talk
The carpet was red!

Scribbling here
After a siesta
In the afternoon

I remember our last talk
Your coat was black!

Scribbling here
After a siesta
In the afternoon
Rain is pouring in the city

I remember our last talk
Your moistened face!

Not Serene

It's a period of calmness
No wave in the water!
Everything seems so perfect and peaceful
that I fear this serenity.
I do not know
If he can listen to the whim of the winds now.

It's a period of calmness...
Why I am here talking to men, women, and children
in a far-off village?
Do I need to prove myself somehow
that I talk well with people?
That I am able to see their world
and claim that I understand them better than others?

It's a period of calmness and tranquility.
I know...
That these periods are those accumulation of moments
When I am most insecure....

Am I losing his love???
I need to prove
so that I don't lose
Him....
so that he breaks his ice
and takes one step forward
Toward me.

The Lad in the Sundarban

If you know the lad
who lives on a boat
day in and day out,
and catches fish in the forest;
you could reach to yourself!

He knows the ways,
the rivers, winds, tides and hidden fish
under the deep black water;

He knows the zigzag of all the creeks
and knows how to find out the holes
where red crabs rest in peace!

So, if you see the lad
Just say “hi”
And follow his course silently,
if possible, on the same boat;
And see!
what you can see!

Midnight Thoughts

In the middle of the night
What he is doing?

She thought.
She often thinks.

She needs to stop thinking though.

What he is doing?
Writing a new book for the annoying editor
Or just simply sleeping with his kitty?

She needs to stop thinking though.
If not, she will be mad!
and will roam on the busy road
without any sandal on her feet
and that would be too miserable!

What he is doing?
In the middle of the night,
Will he ever think of her?

She needs to stop thinking though.
