On your each birthday
I will sit here in silence….
The snow-clad peaks in distance,
the woods of pine, poplar and birch…
A white church and sweet sound of white bells
A deserted path---covered with green grass…
Now you are walking on that winding path
and going to somewhere else.
Slowly you were lost from my sight
as the road took a sharp bent afar
I came out from my hidden place
and stood there---besides that desolate road.
I observed the falling of leaves of those young pines;
But pines don’t shed leaves.
They are evergreen with blessings from Eden.
In your each spring,
On your each birthday
I will sit here in silence…
and the leaves will fall
Will they?
