The ritual-Bhai Phonta

This country
celebrates the relationship
between brothers and sisters
This relationship has received
so much importance 
that it is expressed through rituals. 
Being embedded in patriarchal structure
brothers love to see
them as protectors
of weaker sex-their sisters.
No doubt there is love
but that love doesn't lead to
gender equality
unless brothers do the same;
I have utterly rejected such ritual
from childhood.
