Tonight,
I went to the cliff;
But I couldn't feel anything.
Everything stopped; there was no breeze.
The Earth was so downhearted and tired-
after a scorching summer day
that it was silently taking a doze.
I could see somebody smoking in the dark;
Somebody blowing their nose,
Some dogs barking so vigorously from distance---
probably a breach of territory had just occurred.
Amidst all these chaos and silence
when I am unable to feel anything
when I am unable to sense happiness, sadness, fear, or pain
I feel meeting Rumi!
sitting in front of him in bare feet
in a desert, when the moon is in its crescent
I listen to his voice.
